Meet Our Board of Directors

Passionate, focused and helping to save the world, one iamb at a time.

The Florida Shakespeare Theater's board of directors come from professions as diverse as University professor, Community Organizer, Accountant, Radio presenter, Marketer and Attorney.

They hail from across South Florida and have one thing in common; they are committed and passionate about the mission of The Florida Shakespeare Theater.

This a working board that is not afraid to get down and dirty, to pick up a power tool or paintbrush, sew on 25 snaps, or hawk tee-shirts, all in the name of providing access to classical theater to everyone - residents and visitors alike.

Each of our directors brings a unique point of view and skill set that benefits our organization and helps point us towards helping provide free professional productions of the works of William Shakespeare.

Senior instructor Business Communications, Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton. Master Instructor. As Emily puts it, "'Shakespeare Geek' doesn't even begin to describe it."

SHALIA SAKONA, Esq.

Miami-Based Litigation Associate at Bilzin Sumberg. Shalia is an accomplished actor and vocalist, and is the actor/specialist on the board.

COLLEEN STOVALL

Passionate about open access to the arts in our community. Founded and led the Florida Shakespeare Theater through 15 seasons of free Shakespeare in the park.

SAMMY MACK

Ms. Mack covers health care policy for WLRN. Her health care journalism is supported by a fellowship with the Kaiser Health News and NPR Health Care Reporting in the States project. She is a big Shakespeare fan .

Paul is a CPA who recently retired from the City of Miami.

He is in charge of the logistics for the company.
